About the Foundation

The Lake Family Foundation was established in 2023 after the unexpected loss of Justin Lake in April 2021. Each year, the Lake family will choose one non-profit from a small list of organizations that Justin was most passionate about donating funds to. Funds for the foundation can be donated at any time, with the annual Justin Lake Golf Tournament being the primary source of funding.

The Lake Family Foundation has tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3).

2026 Supported Organization

To fulfill the Gospel call to love our neighbors as ourselves by recognizing the God-given dignity of each person and providing essential life services to those in need. The most recent statistics indicate that more than 1,000 men, women and children in South Dakota are without a home. The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House offers a warm, safe and secure place to start the road back to a more stable, long-term way of living. Located in downtown Sioux Falls, the Bishop Dudley facility is within walking distance of several agencies that provide programs for the needy, supporting the proven plan to work in partnership with existing agencies to coordinate many services under a single roof. In 2024, Bishop Dudley served 2,027 unique individuals, 29 families, and 56 children.

2026 Supported Organization

The Banquet meal ministry began in 1985 with a simple mission — to provide nourishment and fellowship for those in need. What started with just one meal per week has grown into a thriving program that now serves 16 meals every week across two locations in Sioux Falls. At the heart of The Banquet is thee commitment to being a volunteer-based ministry. Every meal served is paid for, prepared by, and served by volunteer groups who generously give their time, resources, and compassion. These groups come not only from Sioux Falls, but also from surrounding communities, uniting people from all walks of life in a common purpose: to serve our neighbors with dignity and care. Thanks to this dedication, The Banquet has become much more than a meal. It’s a place where guests find nourishment, encouragement, and community support — and where volunteers experience the joy of making a direct, meaningful difference. In 2024, The Banquet served 180,000 meals, served 25,000 meals to children under 12 and provided 15,000 gallons of milk
